    Birth control pills are one of the best methods in preventing pregnancy. It is to be taken once a day, everyday. These contraceptives contains hormones which actually stops the body from ovulating or changing the cervical mucus to make it hard for the sperm to find it's way to the egg. However, there are numerous negative side effects brought by these pills and most women aren't aware of these!

    1) Yeast Infection
    Since there is a sudden disruption the balance of hormones in the body, the risk for yeast infection also doubles or sometimes triples.

    2) Blood clots
    Some studies prove that women who use contraceptive pills are at higher risk for blood clots.

    Since pills gives off synthetic hormones, this may cause imbalance in the neurotransmitters which can greatly affect one's emotional state.

    8) Nausea
    Additional estrogen in the body can upset the stomach and can cause nausea at the first quarter of taking pills.

    The pills stops the production of testosterone which can lead to loss of interest in sexual life, particularly decreasing ability to orgasm and increasing pain.

    10) Visual Changes
    This can be a risk to women wearing contact lenses which can lead to glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
